  • Search the web
  • Check black and white lists for the journal name
  • See if the website looks professional
  • Look over the review policy
  • Make sure the author fees are spelled out clearly
  • Look up the editorial board*
  • Verify where the journal is indexed*
     

Evaluate the Publisher

  • Search the web
  • Look up contact information*—find on a map, try calling the phone number
