University Libraries Renovation

This guide explains and has the most up-to-date information on the University Libraries renovation.

Current phase of the renovation

Currently, the library is preparing the building for renovation.

On Level 5:

  • Library staff are shifting journals and books, in addition to taking down shelving that will not be used in the renovation.
  • Moving the juvenile and curriculum collections to Level 2

On Level 3:

  • Library staff are working on downsizing the reference collection and will move the reference collection to Level two.

On Level 2:

  •  Library staff  are prepping workspace to become the new art gallery.
  • Moving the juvenile collection into the newly assigned space

About the renovation

The University Libraries are undertaking a $10M transformation to build a collaborative space that preserves and enhances the traditional aspects of the library while also creating a more modern, engaging and flexible space to meet the needs of university scholars and library patrons alike.
