Final Ed.S. Scholarly Paper Procedures

Prepare the Correct Formatting

  • All scholarly papers must have a 1½ inch margin on the left side. 
    • This is to accommodate any future binding of the scholarly paper.
  • The title page must reflect the information and format of the sample page - Word Template.
    • A scholarly paper may have a second title page that follows the writing style used or academic unit convention. - can probably remove
  • Please carefully review your submission for clarity, spelling and graduate school requirements.
    • Documents that have been carefully reviewed, process faster through our office.
  • DO NOT SUBMIT SIGNATURE PAGES
  • In matters of style and documentation, the custom of the discipline shall be followed.

Abstracts

●Abstracts are required for all scholarly papers submitted to the Graduate School.

●The abstract for the IRL@UMSL site must be no longer than 350 words.

 

Consult the Graduation Deadlines to determine your graduating semester and the timeline for submitting final scholarly paper and the M2, PtB.

 

Submit Final Scholarly Paper

Please be sure that your scholarly paper meets the minimum requirements above so that it can be reviewed quickly.

 

This includes scholarly papers with short-term embargoes.  Please contact the Graduate School if your scholarly paper needs to be withheld from the public for up to 60 months.

IRL@UMSL

  • The Graduate School will accept the final version submitted electronically through the IRL@UMSL
  • A copy of your scholarly paper is made available through the IRL@UMSL site.
  • This site requires that you create an account.

 

Checklist for Final Approval

The Graduate School will give final approval on the M4 when:

  • Your advisor has approved the electronic copy submitted to http://irl.umsl.edu/eds - in addition to other degree requirements.
