Step-by-step guide to PubMed's advanced features.

Searching for a Specific Article

There are a few ways to find specific articles: 

  •  A   Type citation information directly into the search bar. This example shows the result for cord blood sampling bahr 2023 (words from the title, author’s last name, and publication year).

  •  B   Paste one of the article’s ID numbers into the search bar. Examples include the PMID (PubMed ID), the PMCID (PubMed Central ID), and the DOI (digital object identifier, shown below).

  •  C   Click the Single Citation Matcher link on the PubMed homepage and enter any information you have into the form, such as the year, the author’s last name and first initial, and title words.
