Get Your New York Times & Wall Street Journal Now!

The Libraries have purchased individual subscriptions to the New York Times and Wall Street Journal for all UMSL students, faculty and staff.

Important Note

The Libraries have purchased subscriptions to the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and St. Louis Business Journal for all students, faculty and staff.  Individual accounts are required.  Use the links below to create your accounts.

  • For the New York Times & St. Louis Business Journal:
    • These are separate accounts and should be different from your UMSL username and password.
    • Use the mail.umsl.edu (students) or umsl.edu (faculty & staff) format for your email address.  This verifies that you are with UMSL.
    • If you already pay for a personal subscription that is tied to your campus email address and wish to use this campus version instead, you must contact the New York Times or Wall Street Journal to cancel your personal subscription before you can register.
You may periodically be asked to confirm your eligibility.  If so, follow the instructions in the email to renew your access.

New York Times (individual account)

You MUST use your UMSL @edu email address (xyz@mail.umsl.edu or xyz@umsl.edu).
These email addresses will forward into your umsystem.edu email account
  1. Navigate to AccessNYT.com
  2. Search for and select "University of Missouri-St Louis"  You will be redirected to the NYT registration page.
  3. Click "Create Account" and complete fields.
  4. Verify your account - you will receive a confirmation email).  Once you have established your account & subscription, you can access the New York Times from your computer, phone or tablet.

Features of a New York Times Account:

Wall Street Journal (individual account)

  1. Visit WSJ.com/UMSL or https://partner.wsj.com/partner/UniversityofMissouriStLouis to set up your account.
  2. After you log in with your SSO ID you will be taken to the account creation form.  Complete the form and submit your information.
  3. You should receive an email from Dow Jones / The Wall Street Journal confirming your subscription.
  4. Once you have established your WSJ account, you can access the Wall Street Journal site from your computer, phone or tablet.  Access includes the current site plus a four year archive.
  5. If you have trouble, you can contact their help desk at 1-800-JOURNAL.
