Pro & Con Resources

Resources to help explore controversial topics, current events, and examine pros & cons of various issues

News Sources

The following list is a short selection of resources that will help you locate news articles on a particular topic.  News articles on controversial topics may take a relatively neutral or a biased approach.

To evaluate news sources for pro/con research:

  • Identify whether the article is an opinion piece.  If so, who is writing it?  What is their motivation?
  • Use other websites to check the reputation of the news organization.  Do they typically favor a specific political party or other group?

You may want to use this information to get articles which favor both "sides" of the argument.
