Click Ask a Librarian to learn how to contact us while campus is closed. If the Chat Now button is visible, one of our librarians can help you immediately.
Summon is a search engine that searches most of our databases at one time. Summon results include online and print articles, books in UMSL’s library catalog, magazine and newspaper articles, government documents, and much more! To search in one of our individual databases, click View List of All Library Databases and choose from the A-Z list.
In Books/Catalogs, you can use the search bar to look for books and eBooks in the UMSL catalog. You can also use the buttons below the search bar to go to expanded catalogs: MERLIN = libraries at all four universities in the UM System; MOBIUS = 60+ university and research libraries in our region. Please note that MERLIN and MOBIUS books cannot be requested during the campus closure.
If you want to find out if UMSL provides access to a specific online or print journal, go to Journals by Title.
Links in this column provide access to research help in the form of guides and tutorials created by librarians. Subject Guides are designed to help you do research in the specific subject you’re studying. They offer tips on using databases, finding books, citing sources, etc.
Sign into My Library Account (with your SSO ID and password) to find out when your borrowed books are due and to renew them if possible. Interlibrary Loan allows you to request articles from other libraries when UMSL doesn’t provide access. MERLIN / MOBIUS offers more details about getting print books from other institutions. This service is not available during the campus closure.
